The occurrence of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) have more than doubled over the past 50 years due to the acceptance of it as a medical condition that is caused by unhealthy diet with high in saturated food. Premenstrual syndrome is defined as faulty function of the ovaries related to the women's menstrual cycle, it effects a women's physical and emotional state, and sometimes interferes with daily activities as a result of hormone fluctuation. I. Definition
Ginger is a spicy plant belongs to the family Zingeraceae, native to Asian. It has been used as a form of diet treatment in traditional Chinese in treating blood stagnation caused by yang qi deficiency.

II. How ginger root effects women with PMS
1. Stimulant
Ginger root is a stimulant, it helps to enhance the nervous system in increasing the alertness, wakefulness, and locomotion, thereby decreasing the risk of loss of energy, dizziness and fatigue for some women with premenstrual syndrome.
